Founder of SBK Coaching.
I spent years being the fit one. Military service, Ironman Wales (twice!!), multiple endurance events — basically always moving. Then fatherhood arrived, and at the same time work got heavier with a new job and more responsibility. Somewhere between the school runs, the late finishes and everything else, I began to struggle with my fitness and my weight.
I remember the day I weighed myself, looked in the mirror, and at over 97kg just didn't recognise myself anymore. Events I once did for fun seemed almost impossible, and that didn't sit right with me. So I embarked on the big rebuild — except this time with a system built around my life, schedule, family and goals.
Fast forward 18 months: over 23kg lighter, happier, more confident, looking great — and back on the start lines of the events I love. Multiple PBs. All while training around work, life, kids and everything in between.
Inside SBK Coaching, I help dads:
- Get lean without overhauling their entire life or obsessing over food
- Build real strength and running fitness — the hybrid athlete approach
- Get onto the start lines of events they used to do or have always wanted to do — HYROX, park runs, marathons, ultras, anything they have their eye on
